Spring fashion trend spotting - blazers & brights
For Spring 2009, designers have created exquisite pieces that combine beautifully with the less-expensive items in your closet. It’s all about the mix - a savvy blend of craftsmanship and unique style.
The catwalks showed a strong emphasis on sportswear - strong pieces that signal the return to smart dressing. The blazer reigned supreme with the relaxed boyfriend blazer and sculpted jacket. The longish boyfriend style is the perfect topper to slouchy jeans and body-conscious dresses while the tuxedo-inspired jacket works to instantly dress up any basic in your closet.
Spring wouldn’t be complete without vibrant hues of yellow, red and tangerine. The key to wearing bright color is to wear them sparingly like a splash of yellow underneath a khaki suit. Avoid clashing shades head-to-toe or you’ll ending up looking like a clown.
