Nutrisystem has voluntarily recalled one product, the Peanut Butter Granola Bar, because testing done on some of their product inventory indicated that an isolated quantity may be contaminated with Salmonella. Neither Nutrisystem nor the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has received any reports of illnesses associated with the consumption of the product affected by this recall. This is a precautionary action on the part of Nutrisystem to ensure the safety of customers.

How can I tell if the granola bars I have are affected by this recall?
First, only a specific lot the Canadian version of the Peanut Butter Granola Bar is affected by this recall. No other products are at risk. All the bars were produced for Canadian use. The product affected by this recall, Nutrisystem brand Peanut Butter Granola Bar (Canadian version), is sold in 40g packages bearing UPC 6 32674 37016 7 and lot code TC05219B. The lot code can be found on the back ingredient panel, and is printed after the “distributed by” statement. The easiest way to tell if you may have any product affected by this recall is if it has bilingual English and French packaging.

Is this related to the previous recall of this product?
No. The two voluntary recalls are unrelated. Neither in that instance nor in this one were, or have there been, any reports of illness associated with consumption of the product. This is a precautionary action on the part of Nutrisystem to ensure the safety of customers. If you have any of the Canadian version of the Peanut Butter Granola Bars in your possession, we ask that you immediately discard them, and Nutrisystem will gladly send you a replacement bar. How do I know that other Nutrisystem products are safe?
As informed by Nutrisystem, they work with over 30 food manufacturers that produce over 60 items for use in Canada. Nutrisystem mandates that all of their products are tested by each food manufacturer prior to entering the Nutrisystem food warehouses for distribution to the customers.

What should I do if I am in possession of any of the Canadian version of the Nutrisystem Peanut Butter Granola Bars?
You are asked email to PBbar@nutrisystem.com. Nutrisystem will gladly send you a replacement bar. You should immediately discard all Canadian versions of the Peanut Butter Granola Bars that you have.

I may have eaten a Canadian Peanut Butter Granola Bar. Should I be worried?
Nutrisystem is committed to the safety of their clients and has informed us that they have removed this product from their existing inventory. No other products in Nutrisystem’s menu items are affected by this recall. There have been no incidents or illnesses reported to Nutrisystem associated with the consumption of the product.
