The Shopping Channel’s Model for a Day - Revealed!
Hundreds of entrants, 5 semi-finalists and over 20,000 votes later, we’re thrilled to announce the winner of The Shopping Channel’s Model for a Day contest.
Meet Rhonda McJannet from beautiful White Rock, BC! Wife, home-maker and self-described fashionista, becoming The Shopping Channel’s Model for a Day came at a perfect time for Rhonda. With her kids grown and her husband happy on the golf course, Rhonda is enjoying having time for herself to persue her own interests and passions.
And this lady has a passion for fashion! It couldn’t have been more evident then when she walked into The Shopping Channel headquarters yesterday for the first time. Looking stunning in a leopard print skirt and oh-so-sexy short black boots, we immediately knew that Ms. McJannet would have no problem strutting her stuff on The Shopping Channel today.
Rhonda spent her morning behind-the-scenes getting ready for her debut. It will be a day filled with fittings, getting tips from her fellow models and meeting some of our TV Hosts as well as designers Brian Bailey & Guillaume Poupart.
Tune in to our 1PM ET Brian Bailey show and our 2PM ET Designs by Guillaume show, where Rhonda will be stepping in front of the camera and modelling live on set.

Could you be our first-ever “Model for a Day”? Your FAQs answered
On the fence about entering our Model for a Day contest? Why not give it a shot? You have until September 8. There’s been great interest from viewers across the country.
As Promotions Manager of this contest, I thought I’d take the opportunity to answer some frequently asked questions that have been coming in from our viewers:
Is the Shopping Channel looking for a supermodel type?
No, not at all. It doesn’t matter what age, size or body type you are, we want YOU to enter! Our winner could very well be a plus sized model! We are looking for an everyday viewer. Someone who wants to travel to Toronto and have fun dressing up with Shauna, Charlotte, Anne and our other models.
What if I don’t live in the Greater Toronto Area?
Not a problem! The Shopping Channel will be flying our winner (and a friend!) into Toronto, regardless if she’s from Victoria, Newfoundland or points in between. We’ll also be picking up the tab for hotel and meals for you and a friend. The only caveat is that you need to get yourself to a major Canadian International airport. We’ll take care of the rest.
What should I say in my audition video?
The only tips I can give you is to be yourself. Give us your first name, city you are from and why you should be our Model for A Day. It could be for the simple reason that you want to meet our hosts, mingle with guests like Brian Bailey or spend a day trying on some of our designer fashions. Or perhaps you want to showcase how good The Shopping Channel fashions can look on women of all shapes and sizes. Don’t forget, the winner gets a $5,000 wardrobe to take home with them.
Send us your video today, or if you have any questions simply post a comment below and I’ll be sure and respond. For more suggestions, watch this video for advice from our judges.
