Star gazing in West Hollywood, LA

Hello Everyone,

I am blogging from West Hollywood L.A. It’s my first time here and I’m loving it! The vibe of this place is incredible. The hills are beautiful and Hollywood Blvd. is something to see. I have several pictures I will share once I get back home.

I find it very funny that everyone looks at everyone because we’re looking for the celebrities. I’ve been to some fabulous restaurants; one in Malibu called Paradise Cove Beach Cafe, which was right on the water absolutely breathtaking and the food was out of this world. We sat by a window overlooking Malibu Beach surrounded by the B&W autographed photos of the hollywood stars who made this place a landmark.

We were also guest listed (so hollywood!) to a concert last night at the legendary Key Club. It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. A combination of vaudeville meets the circus meets rock concert. After a big day, tonight we’re all just lounging, watching the SAG awards and perhaps a little hot tub before bed.

All the Best,
Denise

10 minutes is all it takes - and I feel great!

I have to say I’m actually enjoying my daily work outs! Earlier this month, I bought Tony Horton’s 10 Minute Trainer and I love it. It’s a great addition to the cardio I already do on my bike and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

I had a couple of shows with Rosalie Brown last week which was awesome because she continually motivates me and gives me great advice. I always keep her mantra in mind - strength training, core training and cardio combined, a little each day.

What does your daily exercise routine consist of? Leave a Comment below and let me know. I’m always looking for new and fun ways to stay motivated.

Rise, shine & workout!

It’s January!  I woke up this morning went downstairs and got on that bike. The thing about riding a bike inside is it can get pretty boring; all you’re thinking about is when is this going to be over.  So to amuse myself during my ride, I put on my stepson’s favorite movie Stepbrothers (extremely funny).

I rode for about 45 mins, did some stretching and then free weights.  It felt really good to accomplish my workout first thing in the morning.  You feel alive, strong and ready to take on what ever challenges the day brings.

Making 2009 my most fit year yet!

Well it’s a new year and my resolution is to stick with a fitness program.  I find there is never enough time in a day to fit everything in and it seems my workouts have suffered recently.

The first thing I have to figure out is a plan. I think if I set aside an hour each morning to work out, I will have greater success.  I also want to speak with a trainer to get an idea of how to maximize my routine to get the best results.  Maybe I will pick up a couple of fitness magazines to get me inspried and keep me on track…

If you have any tips on how to fit exercise into a busy schedule, I’d love to hear from you!

Happy New Year!

If Santa’s elves are wondering what to get me this year, my list is only three items long. A large flat screen TV would be awesome, of course! Also I’ve had my eye on the HomeSuite Faux Sherpa Throw (in chocolate please) as well as the J.A. Henckels 8-Piece Knife Set.

We have acquired a piano from my kids’ uncle. It looks lovely sitting in the dining room, but no one in our family really knows how to play. I have asked Santa for some music books to teach myself to play the piano. As we get older, we realize how quickly the years do go by. I have always wanted to learn to play - now is the time!

My wish list is all about decorating our new home this holiday season. I would love the Tiffany Style Amanda Floor Lamp - its honey warm glow would set such a romantic mood in our living room at night. I also think a 42″ LCD TV from LG would be a sexy finishing touch to our bedroom wall - perfect for snuggling up to a great old movie. Now that would be for Thomas too, so does that mean I get one more special gift for me? How about a handbag, no .. LOTS of handbags, one in every colour!
May all your Holiday wishes come true!
