Avoid digital disaster with the ClickFree Backup device
If you are like me, you use your computer for everything: family pictures, songs, videos, letters, and emails. What do you do if your computer has a virus? What if it’s lost or stolen? You could lose everything on your computer.
Emergency phone call and emails come through on my computer regularly from people asking me to tell them about the “easiest” way to backup a hardrive. Previously, the term “backing up your hardrive” sounded scary, probably even intimidating, but not with the ClickFree Automatic Backup device. Everyone who owns a computer should also own a ClickFree unit. You will avoid a digital disaster by owning one.
When you open up the package you will see: 1. ClickFree Automatic Backup device. 2. USB cable. 3. Owner’s manual. Simply insert the USB cable to the top of the device and the other end into your computer’s available USB port. You can reference the owner’s manual for this, but when you get it out of the box, you will figure it out. The USB cable only plugs in one way into the device so you can’t make a mistake.
Once it’s connected, just wait for a few seconds and the process will begin. The ClickFree Automatic Backup device will begin to automatically find and copy all of your files. Yes, it’s that simple! It can backup up to 400 different file types such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPEG images, etc. The best part is that no computer knowledge is required. All you have to do it own one. No hassles, no worries. If you can put toaster in your toaster, you can backup your hardrive.
I suggest backing up your computer every two weeks. Again, just plug in the device and it will do all the work for you. Once you are finished backing up your hardrive, just unplug is and store it on a shelf.
It’s that easy!

Marianthe, I would like to say that I’m glad you’re part of the Shopping Channel “family”, as you always bring a ray of sunshine with your tech expertise. You helped me out many years ago, when I was in the market for a digital camera. I currently own an HP camera & HP printer. Your easy to understand knowledge makes it very easy for people, and they don’t feel intimidated in this world of neverending technology. I will admit, my first camera, wasn’t a HP, and when it was time to upgrade I went to HP, and the rest is history. I’m on my second printer from HP, and what can I say…nothing else will ever enter my home. I know you represent other companies as well, oh by the way, I purchased the clickfree, and just love it, can’t do without it. I’m a car enthusiast and have a lot of pictures stored, and it really helped when I was between computers. I’m not tech dependent like most, in OUR generation, but I manage, and your demo’s have been a part of it. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
Frank, I would like to thank you for taking the time to write this note on the TSC blog.
It brought the biggest smile to my face to know that I have helped you, and more importantly, that you are HAPPY with your HP products and ClickFree hardrive.
I am a true believer in HP technology and equipment and also a dedicated fan of ClickFree products and the people that form the company.
Frank, it seems like you have the full solution! Feel free to call in while I am on air showcasing the above-mentioned products. I am sure the rest of Canada would like to hear about your experience with the products you purchased from TSC.
Until then, take care.
Marianthe
I have a question Marianthe, concerning the Clickfree. I have one and it is a relief having a way to save everything on my laptop. I have a croddword puzzle game, solitaire and a couple other games installed on it and I was wondering if I invested after a bit, in a netbook, could I transfer these games from my Clickfree onto it? I am thinking I would like to have a netbook, maybe later this summer, but would like to have these things on it for entertainment if I took it away with me overnight or longer. Thanks.
Marianthe, It’s Lynda again. The dangers of not proofreading. I have a crossword puzzle game and not a croddword. It is late here so guess I had better proofread twice or even better, shut this down and go to bed.
Hi Lynda,
Glad to hear from you. The ClickFree device is a backup for the files that you typically click “save as” to. Some examples are a powerpoint, videos, pictures, music, Word documents, etc. It will also save your “My Favourites” list for your favourite websites but it will not be able to copy/backup software programs. You have to take the disc that the crossword puzzle came on and install it into your computer. If you invest in a mini/netbook, since they do not have a CD/DVD drive, you can purchase an external drive and install it that way. I would suggest trying to see if you can download this crossword program directly from the internet onto your mini/netbook. Try calling the manufacturer of the crossword puzzle and see if they have a link to download the program online for mini/netbook owners.
I get this question a lot so thank you for asking it. People will see this response and know the answer. Thank you also for tuning in to watch us on air.
Thanks for your reply to my question about the netbook, Marianthe. My nephew has a netbook that he uses as his main computer and he purchased an external hard-drive to use with it. I am still thinking about one in the future but can’t do it just yet. Have to finish paying easy pay on my Cricut Expression first. Love the HP netbook you showed a short time ago with the pink keyboard and trim on the cover. By the way, my nephew works as a Computer Analyst and I figured he would tell me I didn’t need the Clickfree, when I showed it to him but he was very impressed and ended up ordering 2 the last time you had it as a showstopper. Thanks again. Lynda
Hi again Lynda,
I am so happy to hear your story about ClickFree. It truly is a must-have product to own.
I was in the greenroom yesterday with the Cricut team and one of the ladies shared with me that she purchased a ClickFree too. I thought I would share that with you. All worlds need a ClickFree and a Cricut.
Thanks for tuning in!
