Hi Suzanne. I have been searching this web-site since I watched you make your cake on air yesterday while you and Richard were having such a great time. What a riot. I was laughing out loud the whole time. Of course nothing goes right when the whole world is watching. You and Richards both said the recipe is on the TSC web-site but I’ll be danged if I can find it anywhere. I have type II diabetes and I would love to prepare this cake for Easter Dinner dessert at my daughters house using your Somersweet. I ordered 4 cans of that and also 4 of the dual pack Protein shakes and bars. Any ideas where I can find that recipe? Keep up the great work, I have been a fan for many, many years.

Morning ladies. Cake was a huge success. I assumed I would take the cake to my daughter’s for dessertt for myself as I have type II diabetes and come home with the whole cake minus one slice. I came home with only a quarter of the cake. Everyone couldn’t wait to taste it,& they absolutely loved it. I changed up the recipe a bit. I added instant coffee to the icing to make it a mocha cake. I also melted 1/4 cup of butter in a pan on the stove on low, added 1/4 of Somersweet stirring until it was smooth. I added oatmeat until all of the butter/somersweet was absorbed and then stirred until the oatmeal became slighty brown. This becomes almost like a nutty candy. I cooled it off in the fridge and sprinkled it all over the cake after icing. I did find the cake a bit dry, so next time I will keep that in mind & and see if I can make it a little more moist but it was still very, very good. As a matter of fact, I am ashamed to say, I just had a nice big slice for breakfast. ;-)

We'd love to hear from you
